I was truly dazzled by the array of hip and creative looks from Ooh La La– a progressive clothing boutique chain which is a rare find on Long Island. Fortunately, they bring 5 much-needed stores to this area. Lines from Judith March, Scrapbook and many MANY more were featured at this hot sexy show which debuted just after 11PM Friday night…. The evening benefitted Habitat for Humanity’s program “Women Build” which promotes women to learn construction as they address the issues of substandard housing – an incredible cause. Many thanks to Jenny and her pretty Mom, who must be extremely proud of her talented, and highly organized daughter (this particularly full-sized show went off without a hitch!)

These 2 are applicable immediately with the exception of carrying eye base and a brow kit with you. Shouldn’t these things remain on throughout the day?? Come on, eye shadow base and brow makeup should be formulated to adhere to your skin all day.
What are your most important makeup tips and tricks?
Trish McEvoy: Always brighten your eyes by applying a highlighter on your upper lids. Don’t apply concealer under your eyes, apply it in shadows of the eye, spots that are darker. Always curl your lashes. Blend liner into your lipstick so it’s more natural looking, and always wear a little coverage on your skin.
What should every woman have in her makeup bag?
Trish McEvoy: [My] Eye Base Essential, eyeliner, crease shadow, brow kit, concealer, bronzer, blush, lip liner, lip color, and mascara.

Big ringlet curls are a huge trend for fall. That means hot rollers and large curling irons are going to be hot commodities. Keep the curls down near the tips of the hair for the best look.
Pretty Polished Ladylike hair doesn’t have to be prissy and precious, as evidenced by the styles at Carolina Herrera. All it takes is a great blowout and, yes, a deep side part. Of course, a Carolina gown doesn’t hurt either.
Uptown Girl Sometimes bigger really is better. And the new twist on the beehive feeds both my updo and Mad Men obsessions. Get ready to tease it high this fall, ladies.
With a size range from 0-26, custom sizing for a mere $7.50…. it looks like they are really stepping up their game. The colors in their fall palette are simply delicious. Beautiful jewel tones in purples, blues and green…definitely a great way to step out of browns, blacks and grays this upcoming fall season. I only have one piece from eShakti (see review here), but after seeing how well it washed, I’m definitely going to grab a few more of their dresses. They also offer pants and tops as well, but I think they do amazing things with their selection of dresses. You definitely won’t see anyone else wearing what you have with eShakti…well unless of course you are a blogger, we sometimes tend to like the same things.
I hear there’s a 10% off discount code (type in nikstarr123 during checkout) so definitely worth checking this out 🙂

Upon entering the Grand Palais on Tuesday morning, the look and feel of Karl Lagerfeld’s set for Chanel was of a French formal garden. Model after model entered and strolled around the black hedges as through on promenade at the Tuileries.
At the other end of this time spectrum, a tiny blond boy walked in the show, grasping the hand of a male model, each of them wearing a white Chanel jacket. The child gazed in amazement at the sprawling space full of people. One can only imagine what that memory will be like for him years from now.
In his collection, Mr. Lagerfeld took the season’s preoccupation with lace to the couture level. Skirts and dresses were made of laces of many textures — most intriguingly, some with a cubist pattern that reminded me of shattered glass.
A series of suits of traditional Chanel tweed suits were formed by stitching together horizontal ribbons of the fabric, creating another lovely shattered look. These textiles and manufacturing methods are the reason Chanel clothes cost the moon.
